Setup Packs for ResMed AirMini: What They Are and Why They Matter

The setup packs for the ResMed AirMini are essential for connecting specific CPAP masks to the AirMini machine. Due to the AirMini’s compact design, it does not use standard CPAP tubing and connections. Instead, ResMed has developed specialized tubing and adapters for certain masks, ensuring proper airflow, seal integrity, and compatibility with AirMini-specific features like the HumidX™ waterless humidification system.

Key Components of AirMini Setup Packs:

  1. Specialized Tubing and Connectors:

    • Each setup pack includes custom tubing that works only with specific masks and the AirMini. These tubes are different from regular CPAP tubing in size and connection type.
    • Example: The AirFit N20 setup pack contains unique connectors that link the N20 mask to the AirMini’s outlet.

  2. HumidX™ or HumidX Plus Discs (for some masks):

    • These are waterless humidifiers that are placed inside the tube to provide moisture without the need for a water chamber.
    • HumidX: For standard humidity needs.
    • HumidX Plus: For dry or high-altitude environments where more moisture is needed.
    • These discs fit only inside the specific tubing provided in the setup packs.

  3. Mask-Specific Adapters:

    • Some masks require special adapters included in the setup pack to ensure a secure seal and proper airflow.
    • Example: The AirFit F20 mask setup pack includes an adapter that allows the mask to connect seamlessly to the AirMini's hose.

Why Setup Packs Are Important:

  1. Ensures Compatibility:

    • The AirMini uses customized air delivery systems, so without the setup pack, even compatible masks won’t fit or work properly.

  2. AirFit F20 / AirTouch F20 Setup Pack

    • Works with: AirFit F20 or AirTouch F20 Full Face Masks
    • Includes: Adapter for mask connection, custom tubing, and HumidX F20 cartridge.
    • Notes: Mask not included. Perfect for mouth breathers or those needing higher pressures. AirTouch offers a memory foam cushion option for added comfort.

  3. AirFit P10 for AirMini Setup Pack

    • Works with: AirFit P10 Nasal Pillow Mask for AirMini
    • Includes: ResMed AirFit P10 mask, custom tubing, mask frame, headgear, and a HumidX and HumidX Plus cartridge. 
    • Notes: Lightweight and travel-friendly. Offers a minimal mask design with added humidification comfort via the HumidX system.

  4. AirFit F30 Setup Pack

    • Works with: AirFit F30 Full Face Mask
    • Includes: Custom tubing and connectors.
    • Notes: Mask not included. Compact full-face design reduces facial contact while maintaining a tight seal. Great for users who want a full-face mask without the bulk. 

  5. AirFit N30 Setup Pack

    • Works with: AirFit N30 Nasal Mask
    • Includes: ResMed AirFit N30 mask, custom tubing, mask connectors for AirMini compatibility and a HumidX and HumidX Plus cartridge. .
    • Notes: This setup pack ensures the AirMini delivers proper airflow to the N30’s low-profile, under-the-nose cushion design. Ideal for nasal breathers seeking minimal contact.
